so i have a solar power battery charging question…?

I guess the best way would be to explain what i want to do.. I’m looking to buy a small boat and power it with an electric trolling motor. I’m pretty sure that they use a 12v battery for their power source. Now what i would like to do is hook up a solar panel on the boat that will contantly be charging the boat.

So now i have a few questions..

1.Will a regular car battery work? or do i need a deep cycle battery?

2. How large of a solar panel will i need, for it to take about 20 hours or so to charge as i intend to use the boat daily, or if i never used a full battery in a day say i only used 50% or so what rating should i look for when buying the panel to keep the battery charged daily?

3. Is it possible to leave the solar panel hooked up while i’m using the battery?

I am basically looking for a simple inexpensive as possible self sustainable setup that will allow me to never have to worry about charging the battery
